Topcats Director Alex Rogers grew up in Northern California where her love of ballet started after her first outing to see The San Francisco City Ballet perform The Nutcracker. She began her dance career at the age of three where she had the opportunity to study a variety of techniques and deepened her love of Ballet. In her teens she was selected to perform lead roles for Livermore Ballet School including Carabosse in Sleeping Beauty and The Fairy Godmother in Cinderella. While in high school, she and her family moved to Keller, TX, where she became a rookie-Senior member of the Keller High School Indianettes, thus starting her drill team career.
Mrs. Rogers went on to attend Texas State University and received a B.F.A. in Dance with a minor in English. During her education at Texas State, she was a four-year member of The World Famous Texas State University Strutters. Performance opportunities for the Strutters included the 2012 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, Disneyland Paris, The Dallas Children’s Holiday Parade, San Antonio Spurs halftime shows, and Fiesta San Antonio, to name a few. She was a member of both the Pom Squad and Jazz Elite groups as well as served as Vice-President and continued to President for her Junior and Senior years. Mrs. Rogers currently also works for Danceline Productions USA where she enjoys choreographing, providing leadership training to young dancers, and assisting in running Spring competitions.
Over the past 5 years, Mrs. Rogers has enjoyed bringing updates and expanding the Topcats name through the community of The Colony. She was able to achieve the addition of a new TCHS Dance Studio Space and new Topcats Dance Locker room in 2021! She has enjoyed creating dynamic choreography that has won first place awards across contests and building up the Topcats program as a family and experience-based environment. She is excited to travel on her first trip with The Topcats since her time as the Director this Spring Break!
Alex Rogers is married her husband Colby and enjoys the time they spend traveling, cooking, and watching him coach baseball! 2022-2023 will be her sixth year as Director of the Topcats, teaching level 1-4 dance classes and the drill team prep program. She is excited to continue her time at The Colony High School and with her Cougar Family!
